Attendance

Mark a class in seconds on a phone, even without signal, see which registers are still to be done, and let parents know the same day when their child is absent.

Where to mark

  • Today: each of your classes has a Mark Attendance button once it starts.
  • Batch Timetable: click a class in the weekly grid and choose Mark attendance.
  • Attendance (in the menu): every class from the last week that still has no attendance, each with a Mark button.

A batch with two classes on one day (for example Physics and Chemistry) has a separate register for each. Pick the class at the top of the page.

Marking a class

Everyone starts as Present. Tap A (absent) or L (late) for anyone who isn't, check the count at the top, and tap Save Attendance. Mark Everyone Present saves a full class in one tap. The page shows whether the class has already been marked and by whom, and warns you before you leave with unsaved changes.

Attendance can be marked from the day of the class, not before. For an earlier date the register lists only the students who were in the batch then.

Marking without internet

Works without internet: classrooms in basements often have no signal.

Install Acadiom on the phone (Add to Home Screen). If a save can't reach the server, it is kept on the phone and sent automatically as soon as the phone is back online.

Registers still to mark

A class that has started but has no attendance appears on Today (earlier days under Still to mark from earlier days), on the Attendance page, and as a count on My Work, for one week. Holidays and cancelled classes are never listed.

Absence alerts to parents

  • When a student is marked absent from a class today, their parents get a notice in the parent portal and by email: "Asha was marked absent from "JEE 2026" (Physics, 4:00 PM) today." It is sent once per class, even if the register is saved again.
  • When a student's attendance in a batch falls below your threshold over the last 30 days, their parents get a low-attendance alert.
  • Turn same-day alerts off, or change the threshold, in Settings β†’ Attendance. Parents can turn attendance emails off for themselves.

The register and low attendance

The Attendance page shows each batch's attendance this month and the students below your threshold. Open a batch's Register to see the month as a grid, one column per class, with each student's present, late and absent counts. Late counts as attended. Export the month to a spreadsheet from the same page.

Correcting a mark

  1. Open the batch's Register and click the date of the class.
  2. Change the student's mark and tap Save Attendance.
  3. The parent portal shows the corrected mark straight away.
